William “Tiger” Thornton, Jr.
The Man, The Myth, The LEGEND
“Tiger” touched everyone at United with his kind spirit, warm smile, can-do attitude, and his love for helping people.
As an active member of United’s Community Service Committee and his involvement coaching numerous trophy-winning softball teams throughout the city, Tiger inspired those around him to be better and do better.
His devotion to helping people was second-to-none, and he did it all with a passion that we will carry on in his name and good works.
Tiger’s Area
On Monday, June 29 in the Sales Pick-Up Area, a dedication ceremony was held to officially re-name the space “Tiger’s Area.”
William “Tiger” Thornton Bowling Classic
The annual SweetWater Save the Hooch Bowling Tournament raises money to benefit the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Tiger was an annual participant and big supporter of this event. In his honor, the event has been renamed the William “Tiger” Thornton Bowling Classic.
