At Barbed Wire, they like to think of themselves as craftsmen—building wines from the ground up. They believe that to make great wine, you’ve got to get your hands dirty. You’ve got to go out into the vineyards and learn what makes each region special. Take pride in your craft. By focusing on quality not quantity, they are able to make tremendously expressive wines—wines that are true to their roots—and to the company’s roots.
Once each of their blends are composed, grapes are gently cold-soaked during fermentation to give the blend a smooth, silky texture, then aged in large oak barrels for added body and flavor.
